Praise God!

After MUCH prayer, lots of tears and a great deal of frustration (on my part, at least) we finally got to welcome Barret back to the regular nursery! Hallelujah! After raising a bit of a fit in the NICU, a very sweet nurse stepped in to answer my questions and discuss things with the doctor. As a hormonal new mom who desperately wanted her baby to be ok, I was truly grateful that someone was finally answering my questions! In the end, she was able to ask the doctor to allow us to speed up the process of transitioning him off of IV fluids. After a great deal of prayer, he successfully drank the required number of cc's of milk and held it down! That was actually quite an amazing feat, so we are thankful for the prayer warriors who stepped in beside us. So, by about 11 p.m. he was in our room and we were finally able to get to know our son. He is ADORABLE!

We are working on checking out of the hospital as we speak. We are waiting for a few last minute doctor approvals and one minor, ahem... circumcision and then we are heading home! Sweet big sister Maryn hasn't even gotten to touch her baby brother. I simply cannot wait for that amazing moment to come this afternoon!

All sprawled out in the NICU...
Sweet Baby Bear waiting to be released from the NICU...
Branum gave me a "spa" day after our celebration dinner...lovely;)
